Special note on shipping synthesizers -- READ THIS BEFORE SHIPPING

Due to the unreliability of the shipping companies , I can not be held responsible for loss or damage on synthesizers that are shipped to me for service, or that I ship back to the customer.  From now on, all damage claims & possible financial loss due to lost or trashed shipments is solely the responsibility of you, the customer -- I won't be pursuing claims with shipping companies any longer.  If you are uncomfortable with this, then by all means DO NOT ship your synth to me for repair;  you're better off seeking local tech support.
Note:  I've had requests for service on Moog keyboards -- unfortunately, I do not service these, as I feel they are best left to those with the experience & parts to treat them well.
Rates:
Bench time/labor:                $45/hour
Parts:                                      cost + 10%
EPROM Programming:       $5
Shipping:                               actual cost*

*Shipping is via Fedex Ground (the least expensive/most efficient method I've found).
Insurance is mandatory;  synth will be returned in the same box & packing as received.

Synths will be photographed & tested upon receipt to document original conditon.
Afterwards you will be contacted with an estimate of repair time, procedure & cost;  no
service will be done without your permission.  Estimates are in "good faith";  if actual repairs
exceed the estimate, you will be notified for approval.

Any parts needing replacement will be replaced with equal- or better-quality parts (depending
upon availability);  ICs needing replacement will be mounted in new sockets.
Faulty EPROMS that can be reprogrammed will be charged $5;  otherwise you will be charged for
the programming and the cost of the replacement chip (+10%).

Note that if you submit a synth for which I don't have the service documents, there will be a delay
while the documents are ordered.

Recommended Maintainence --
Every synth that comes in should receive the following:
--battery check & replacement (if necessary)
--cleaning of keyboard contacts
--cleaning of switches (& replacement, if necessary)
--replacement of power supply capacitors (on any synth over 12 years old), and replacement of
       regulators (if necessary)
--clean out dust, cat hair, old food, etc.
--test all switches, pots & features for correct function.
                     Recommended Maintainence charge:  $75 - $100 (+parts, if required)
(For example: a smaller synth like the Pro-One would be $75;  an OB-X or 4-Voice would be $100)

I've owned, serviced & modified Sequential Circuits synthesizers since the early eighties;
my philosophy is
before all else, do no harm. I treat these machines (& my customers)
with the respect they deserve.
